Hair Mineral Analysis Test

The hair mineral analysis test is a sensitive indicator of the long-term effects of diet and potential toxic metal exposure. This test provides a blueprint of your pet’s biochemistry and is considered a window into the body’s health over the past 3-4 months, revealing information about your pet’s metabolic rate, carbohydrate metabolism, energy levels, endocrine and immune function and levels of body stress. It includes collecting a sample of hair (often 125 mg from the sternal area) and submitting the tissue to be analyzed by Analytical Research Labs, Inc. which will then test for excesses and deficiencies of 20 minerals and toxic heavy metals. The test measures levels of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, iron, copper, manganese, zinc and chromium. The test also measures for levels of lead, mercury, cadmium, aluminum, arsenic, selenium and nickel. This information helps us to analyze what elements may be missing from your pet’s diet and assists in making any changes to their diet and supplement protocol. We find that it helps prevent disease and cancer, prevents premature aging and helps maintain proper organ and immune system function. There are over 200 enzymatic reactions that are occurring in the body as you read this test. The key is having an appropriate mineral ratio that allows these enzymatic reactions to occur in an efficient manner. When the ratio balance of minerals is off, the body’s ability to innately heal on its own is compromised.
